Dr. Huiras was born and raised in Lodi, California and graduated from Tokay High School in 1982. He then attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton and the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo on his way to earning a degree in biology in 1988. Dr. Huiras then continued to the University of California at San Francisco, School of Dentistry for his doctorate degree where he graduated in 1992.
Dr. Huiras received multiple awards throughout his career including membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Dr. Huiras has completed well over 2000 hours of post-doctoral continuing education and is dedicated to being a lifelong learner. He remains committed to furthering his education and experience in the dental field by attending continuing education courses and seminars on a consistent basis, and he is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Sacramento District Dental Society, the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. His dedication to staying up to date with the latest developments and advances in dentistry ensures that each of his patients receives high-quality, comprehensive care. He also participates in advanced training with Spear Education, which assists him in guiding patients through even the most complex cases and treatments. He is a proponent of minimally invasive dentistry, a practice philosophy that advocates disease prevention through patient education and early detection and treatment. Dr. Huiras is passionate about cosmetic and restorative dentistry and has extensive experience in restoring implants and operative dentistry. When not caring for patients, Dr. Huiras enjoys walking his two Labrador Retrievers with his wife Patti, mountain biking, road biking, snow skiing and hiking.
